Katie O'Loughlin

Katie is a Senior Theatre Major with a Technical Emphasis and Dance Minor at the University of Alaska, Anchorage. She has Sound Designed for Tennessee Williams’ Night of the Iguana, Tom Stoppard’s Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead, and Sarah Ruhl’s Eurydice. She was a Lighting Designer for UAA’s Fall Dance Show, and has been a choreographer for three of the University’s Dance productions.

 

Katie has worked with professionals such as Brian Jeffrey, Daniel Anteau, Nova Cunningham, Ty Hewitt, Daniel Carlgen, Katherine Kramer, and Leisha Knight, among others.

 

Currently, Katie is creating a dance production for a personal Honor’s Project. This includes the roles of director, producer, choreographer, lighting designer, sound designer, and collaborator with videographers and projectionists. She is also a Lighting Designer for both the Fall and Spring Dance show for the 2016/17 season, and a choreographer for New Dances 2017.

 

Katie is a part-time photographer and enjoys capturing photographs involving movement. She is an outdoor enthusiast and spends her free time climbing mountains, running, biking, and camping. She has travelled overseas to multiple countries in Europe, to Mexico, and to many of the U.S. States including California, Florida, Oregon, and more.
